Dear iCompost customer
The iCompost pre-order campaign officially ended on 10 January with 190 units sold (10 kept for reserve). We'd like to say a massive thanks for pre-ordering your iCompost - you will be one of the first in South Africa to have such a product in your home. Many people kept contacting us afterwards to try and get their order in but we had to close it so that we can focus on the logistics of getting your order to you as early as possible.
This week we were finalising some admin with SARS so that we can place our order with our manufacturing partner overseas next week. Although the factory will be closing for the Chinese new year, they will endeavour to get the order ready by the beginning of March because we offered them an incentive. We then have logistics experts who will ship it to Johannesburg by the end of March, and we don't anticipate any delays at customs because the product code is quite simple. The Activators and Air Filters are manufactured in Johannesburg, which we will pack with your iCompost according to your order.
Depending on your order number and if you purchased a Priority Pass, you can expect your delivery in March, April or May but a schedule will be provided when the iComposts land in SA. You will have a chance to confirm your delivery address before our courier service delivers your order to your door.
The Activators and Filters will be available for purchase on our website thereafter, and we aim to open a workshop for any repairs (and for other R&D purposes) in Johannesburg in April.
We will provide communications on the following dates so that you know when to expect updates:
28 January
18 February
11 March
25 March
All updates will be posted on our Forum so you can see them all in one place, and if you have any questions you can Whatsapp us using the number that we Whatsapped you with.
Thanks again for helping to get this much needed innovation going in SA!
